Product Details

These contoured inserts are made by a Work-At-Home mother in Golden, Colorado out of four layers of 100% Certified Organic and Fair Trade 55% Hemp/45% Cotton blend fleece.  They rock!  They are unbelievably trim without sacrificing absorbency.  Use them in pocket diapers or as doublers to any other kind of diaper.  These Hemp Fleece Inserts are the ultimate answer.  Hemp is perfect for babies with sensitive skin as it is notorious for being naturally anti-microbial which means that it actually repels bacteria!  Don't let the trimness of these inserts alarm you.  Hemp alone is four times as absorbent than cotton, so these hemp inserts are only 1/8 of an inch thick but can absorb up to amazing 16 ounces ounces of liquid.

These inserts have recently been improved!  They now have five layers of hemp in two sections sewn together at both ends so they "flop" open in washing and drying to make them get cleaner easier and dry faster.  Feedback on the improvement has been great!

Because of the soft feel of Play All Day Organic Hemp Fleece Inserts, they can also be used alone in a Diaper Cover for a super trim contoured diaper or can be worn as a doubler in conjunction with other diapering systems.

The wide end of the insert can be tucked into the front or the back of the pocket diaper to suit the specific needs of your baby girl or baby boy. We have found the having the flexibility to stuff the insert in the direction we need the most absorbency, often eliminates the need for nighttime doublers and additional bulk.

The unique contoured design of our inserts allow for the insert to actually lie flat within the middle of your pocket diaper.  Play All Day Hemp Fleece Inserts will not bunch and add bulk to the middle of your pocket diapers as will other brands we have tested. They are especially designed to provide the absolutely trimmest fit, without sacrificing absorbency and will fit comfortably in all all major pocket diaper brands.

Like most hemp products, prewashing is necessary to "prep" these to make them absorbent.  All the natural hemp oil must be removed by at least FIVE hot washes.  Use a little detergent and hot dry in between washes to speed the process.

Machine wash warm or hot. Dry on low or hang to dry for extended wear, but hot drying is ok.

These inserts have attractive earth-toned edge stitching colors:

Newborn – Burgundy
Small
– Deep Gold
Medium – Brown
Large – Slate Gray
Extra Large –Olive

I love these in my bumGenius 3.0 one-size for naps and nighttime. The hemp really holds onto the moisture and has hasn't woken up wet with one yet. I can't wait until I order more. --Katrina 8/08

These are highly effective! My little one has never had a leak with one of these inserts...and, she wears one overnight! I layer a hemp insert over a microterry doubler (hemp closest to skin) over a prefold and enclose in a cover.  --Kellie 7/08
